The European Commission (EC) is a founding member of the ELD Initiative promoting the European Union's general interest. The EC delivers humanitarian assistance and international aid worldwide with the goal to protect the environment and to minimise risks to climate, human health and biodiversity

United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification

The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is a founding member of the ELD Initiative and the sole legally binding international agreement linking environment and development to sustainable land management in order to restore the productivity of degraded land, improve livelihoods, and reduce the impacts on vulnerable populations.

Global Mechanism

The Global Mechanism (GM) is an institution of the UNCCD providing advisory services, promoting partnerships and demonstrating innovations at the country level to achieve Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) at the national level.

The Australian National University (ANU) is a world-leading university. Crawford School of Public Policy at ANU is Asia and the Pacific’s leading graduate public policy school. It is home to some of the region’s most important researchers and many staff are active on government committees and in key advisory roles across government, business and civil society.

AMURE a multi-disciplinary research and training centre in social sciences and humanities. It focuses on sustainable development of marine activities and associated public policies, as well as im pacts of these activities on marine and coastal socio-ecosystems. It is a joint collaboration between the University of Brest, IFREMER, and CNRS.

International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas

The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is a global research-for-development organization. It provides innovative, science-based solutions for communities in the non-tropical dry areas of the developing world securing access to food, markets, nutrition and health, and the capacity to manage natural resources sustainably.

World Agroforestry Centre
